FAQ

We rent to churches, theatres, schools, colleges, universities, films, commercials, and to individuals who are in need of a costume. We do have mascot/character costumes. We also can piece together almost any look you are wanting to achieve. We love to see pictures of what you have in mind, so that we can better assist you.

For Groups: (churches, schools, colleges, universities, films etc.) Contacting us by phone or email to inquire if we have the costumes in stock to suit your needs. We then send over a rental agreement for the customer to look over and sign. A credit card deposit is required to start the process of us pulling, designing, or building pieces for the show. Measurements of the actors are then emailed to us to print and begin work. We ask for a 6 week notice and anything under two weeks will have a rush fee added to the bill.

Eastern Costume then pulls, alters, labels the costume with each actor’s name. All costumes are altered, pressed and ready to be worn by the actors. Costumes can either be shipped or picked up. Additional shipping costs are not included in the rental costs. Alterations and cleaning are included. If the show consists of 100 or more pieces, a fee will be added. If the show consists of 100 or more pieces, a fee will be added. We do offer show rates for groups who rent 8 or more costumes.

Individuals can walk in and out of the shop the same day with a costume. If there are alterations that need to be done, there may need to be a few days prior to pick up before the costume is ready. If alterations are needed immediately there will be an alteration fee. We do have a children and youth section, so wax museum projects are made easy. Cleaning is included with the rental.

Costumes from our inventory are occasionally sold at rates that match the loss of future income, but it is rare. We do offer custom commissions with at least a month notice before the costume is needed, with more notice occasionally required for busier times of year. Ex. Halloween, large Conventions, or Christmas.

Rental prices range from $5-10 with an additional 7% sales tax and go up. Rental prices are based on 30 days. After 30 days, an additional month will be charged on unreturned costumes unless otherwise specified.

We build costumes for customers as time allows. We love making costumes for others to keep and love! These handmade costumes come with a year warranty on any structural repairs needed, but not damages made by the customer.

In addition to custom builds, we do alterations of all kinds. Hemming pants, zipper repairs, suit alterations and bridal and prom alterations.

We do carry Ben Nye theatrical makeup as well as spirit gum, stage blood and accessories. We rent purses, hats, but do not generally provide shoes unless it is necessary to the production, like Dorothy’s ruby slippers or Cinderella’s glass slippers.
We also have jewelry, pocket watches, capes, coats, broaches to add that final touch to the costume. We also rent some props and prop weapons upon request.
